About the Cotton Institute

Learn the Threads that Bind the Cotton World

As every facet of the cotton industry continues to evolve — from production, processing, and classification to transportation, manufacturing, and policy — along with the emergence of new global trade patterns, it is essential for participants to understand the foundation and interconnectedness of all sectors.

While attending the International Cotton Institute, you will take part in a six-week residential program designed for both individuals entering the cotton industry and those seeking to expand their expertise. The upcoming session will be held at the Hilton Memphis, with traditional hotel accommodations provided for residential participants. Each room includes a private bedroom and bathroom, a small refrigerator, a microwave, and additional amenities for a comfortable stay.

About Memphis

Known as the Cotton Capital of the World, Memphis built its early prosperity on the cotton trade. In the 1820s, flatboats crowded the Mississippi River as merchants and traders filled Front Street to buy and sell the prized fiber. Though the industry has changed, cotton remains a lasting part of the city’s identity.

Today, Memphis is one of the South’s most dynamic cities, offering professional sports, rich cultural experiences, diverse cuisine, and lively shopping—all reflecting the city’s blend of historic roots and modern energy. More here.
