WESTERN COTTON SHIPPERS ASSOCIATION
91st Annual Convention
Tubac Golf Resort & Spa
April 2-4, 2014
(Wednesday, Thursday, & Friday)
President John Chilton invites you to attend the 91st Annual Meeting of the Western Cotton Shippers Association April 2-4, 2014 in Tubac, Arizona at the Tubac Golf Resort & Spa. Founded in 1752, and located in the Santa Cruz River Valley, Tubac, AZ has a 250-year-old Spanish history.
Tubac is the perfect shoppers’ paradise with over eighty galleries and shops that feature hand-crafted items, sculpture, paintings, clothing and some of Southern Arizona’s best import shops. Tubac restaurants offer lunch and dinner menus that range from elegant dining to tasty, barbeque cooked burgers.
Tubac is also the gateway to the great birding, hiking, off-roading, mountain biking and golf found throughout Santa Cruz County. Located just 40 minutes south of Tucson & 20 minutes from Nogales Plaza Road in Tubac in the Arizona high desert amid a lush cottonwood and mesquite forest, Tubac is a gentle breath of fresh air in an otherwise hurried world. We invite you to come explore this gateway to Santa Cruz County: Arizona’s last untouched discovery!
We encourage all members to support their association and attend this year’s convention for the latest developments on the new Farm Bill, Update on the World Cotton Contract, and other industry matters.

Annual Golf Tournament
The Tubac Golf Resort and Spa was made famous by Kevin Costner’s 1996 movie “Tin Cup,” where many of the scenes were filmed. Designed in 1959 by renowned golf course architect Robert ‘Red’ Lawrence, the original 18-hole course was widely considered to be the ‘Jewel of Southern Arizona Golf Courses.’ Red was a founding member of the American Society of Golf Course Architects and designed a variety of excellent courses across the country.
In the fall of 2006 local golf course architect Ken Kavanaugh added nine new holes woven into the existing eighteen. Dramatically enhancing the course’s layout by adding both distance and challenge, these new holes continue to maintain the play-ability so loved by all who come to stay and play. All three nines offer lush green fairways from tee to green which are lined with stately old growth cottonwoods and mesquites set against Arizona’s clear blue skies. This is not desert target golf! Our magnificent golf facility combined with our superlative service and tranquil setting will provide you with a most unforgettable Tucson, Arizona, golf vacation.
Register your foursome at $75.00 per player – be sure to include handicaps!
