William E. May
William E. May began his career with the National Cotton Council in 1976. He joined the American Cotton Shippers Association in September of 1984 as Vice President of Special Projects, as well as serving as Executive Vice President of the Atlantic & Southern Cotton Associations, which are two of the four federated associations that comprise ACSA. In 1991, he was named Vice President for Administrative Operations and in 1998 named Senior Vice President for Domestic & Foreign Operations with oversight of all Memphis office operations reporting directly to the President and Executive Committee. He was named President and CEO on August 1, 2009.
Mr. May also serves as President of the American Cotton Exporters Association as well as the World Cotton Exporters Association. In 1995, he was named to the Steering Committee for the formulation and oversight of the ACSA International Cotton Institute at Rhodes College and in 2000 named Chairman of the Curriculum Committee for the Institute which now resides at the University of Memphis.
Mr. May is a native of Mississippi; he graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1976 with a BS in Journalism and Political Science. He is married and resides in Memphis, Tennessee.
